We aim to keep parents informed about the work of the School and day-to-day arrangements. We use a range of methods for this, including telephone; text/email service (school comms); our website and weekly newsletter. Formal Parents Evenings are held twice a year in November and February and annual reports are sent home in July. Parents are welcome to make an appointment to see the class teacher if they have any queries or concerns about their child. Please see your child’s teacher at the gate to organise a meeting or email in to the office to organise a mutually convenient time.
We invite parents to join us at a unique event – our Learn-along Days, where parents are invited to join us in lessons and work alongside your children. This is always a very popular event, enjoyed by both parents and children.
At the beginning of each term, we send out to parents a year group newsletter written by the phase leaders. This provides information about the planned curriculum, educational visits and general information relevant to classroom activities. Please see the Curriculum area for further details.
Copies of National and School documents and policies are available for inspection and most are on this website.
Our home/school agreement is issued to all new parents when they join the school.
We welcome parents helping in our classes. The main areas where help is appreciated is in listening to children read and assisting small groups of children in their work. We are always eager to involve parents who have excellent skills in creative arts to assist across the school and particularly parents or grandparents who can help in cookery classes for all our infant children. Parent helpers are most welcome on school trips and for sporting activities. If you feel that you could help out in any of these capacities, or indeed if there are any other areas in which you think you could assist - we would love to hear from you.
